One method to enhance the harmony of your facial features is with chin and cheek implants. A small, hidden incision under the chin allows Dr. Beltran to place the implant directly onto the bone. The incision is then closed and taped with small sutures to minimize swelling after surgery. These sutures are removed in five days. With implant surgery, it is advised to refrain from strenuous activity for two to three weeks. While improvement in shape and profile will be noticeable immediately, even more dramatic improvement occurs over the next few months.

Most people will notice that you look better following surgery, but will not realize that you've had a facial implant. During the consultation process, Dr. Beltran will evaluate your individual physical characteristics, and discuss the size and approach for the implants in order to achieve the maximal effect. The desires of the patient are a major factor in determining the size and configuration of the implant. The surgery is completed on an outpatient basis and requires no aftercare procedures. After the surgery, you will be back to work within one to two weeks. Q: What is my recovery?
A: Side effects vary, especially when combined with other surgeries.   However, you should typically expect to resume low-grade activities in seven to ten days and more vigorous activity after two weeks.

Q: Will I experience swelling or bruising?
A: Swelling and bruising typically peak 24 to 48 hours after surgery, but subside in 5 to 7 days.

Q: Will it be obvious that I've had a facial implant?
A: No. In fact most people will not recognize that you have had an implant, simply that your appearance has improved.
