Breast Augmentation

The perfect body proportions are quite individual.

Some women find that their breast size is not proportional to the rest of their body. Women whose breasts are too small choose to enhance their contour and size with an augmentation procedure. Small, sagging, and overly abundant breasts are often a source of personal embarrassment and physical pain. Others with large breasts will benefit aesthetically as well as physically in reducing their size. Your dimensions help you and Dr. Beltran decide more specifically about the individual results you want to achieve. Those who choose breast augmentation will actively discuss both the size, and placement of the implant.

An incision may be placed in the fold beneath the breast, around the lower half of the areola, or in the axilla. A pocket is then created, usually beneath the pectoral muscle, and the implant is inserted. Two types of implants are now available to all woman. In both cases, the shell of the implant is made of a solid silicone polymer. The saline implant is filled to the desired size with sterile saline at the time of the procedure.

Silicone Implants are pre filled at the manufacturing process with a new FDA approved silicone memory gel, which inhibits silicone gel bleed. The silicone memory gel uses a proprietary formula for a feel that is similiar to actual breast tissue and are also reputed to have less easily detected ruptures than do Saline Breast Implants.

Afterward, you may feel tired and sore for several days and your breasts may remain swollen and sensitive to physical contact for up to a month. The symptoms are much less severe following an augmentation as opposed to having a breast reduction or breast lift. In fact, most patients are driving three days after surgery. You will experience the most discomfort during the first two days and will be given medication to ease the pain.

Results of these surgeries are excellent and all women agree that they would gladly go through the surgical process again to achieve the results. Dr. Beltran will put forth his best effort to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing, long lasting, and most natural results for each patient.
